If it is not showing on the Welcome screen, click on Open Project and navigate to where it is stored. When you have created a project, it will be added to the My Recent Projects list on the Welcome screen, and you will be able to reopen it with a single click on its name.
Unless you have a compelling reason to do so (or a faultless memory), it is generally safer to not set a password for the project. If you need to set a password and/or access rights to the project, this is done once the project has been created, by accessing File > Info > Project Properties.
